We specialize in guiding small groups in wild and scenic areas. We generally limit our groups to no more than eight participants to ensure a safe, intimate and personal wilderness experience. The areas chosen for our trips are "hand picked" to get you away from crowded trails and developed campgrounds. All Wild Horizons guides are experienced outdoors persons with CPR and Outdoor Emergency Medical Care qualifications.
Wild Horizons Expeditions is owned and operated by Paul and Cindy Knight. Both Paul and Cindy love the outdoors and are genuinely excited to share their knowledge of wilderness areas and outdoor skills with guests like you.
Paul Knight Paul is an avid hiker, skier and mountain climber. He has extensive training and experience in map and compass reading, wilderness first aid and wilderness rescue. His experience includes working as a professional Ski Patrolman and an EMT. He has also been a member of the Teton County Search and Rescue Team. He's been a guide for longer than he cares to admit and still loves every moment of it.
Cindy Knight Cindy is an enthusiastic hiker with a love of the wilderness. She is a Registered Nurse with a strong background in emergency care and has extensive knowledge of wildflowers and other wild flora including edible and medicinal plants. Our Guides

Ed resides in Driggs, Idaho, where he is an EMT, teaches for the Wilderness Medicine Institute and National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and is on the ski patrol at Grand Targhee Resort.
Dave McConnell. Dave has over 20 years outdoor experience including work as a backcountry ranger, EMT and director of Ski Patrol at two major ski resorts. His great wit and infectious laugh insures a fun and safe adventure. Kathryn Hess Kathryn has a true love of the outdoors and knack for leadership. She is a former course leader at the National Outdoor Leadership School and has guided in the Rockies, the canyons of Southeast Utah and on Denali. In 1999 she climbed Cho Oyo (26,901’) on the first all-American Woman’s Expedition to climb an 8,000 meter peak without the aid of supplemental oxygen or Sherpa support. A PERCENT FOR CONSERVATION Help Wild Horizons Expeditions preserve the wild and scenic areas which we explore with people like you. We pledge to donate 1% of the price of each trip booked to one of the conservation groups active in the areas we serve. Below is a list of these organizations.
